24 Hour Emergency Service

Did you know - Your furnace is like your car?

You wouldn’t drive your car 150,000 km’s without changing the oil! In fact, Great Canadian Oil Change claims "It's our duty to your car." The same idea is true for your furnace. Regular HVAC servicing is the best way to maintain trouble-free operation and peak performance. The best time for servicing is pre-season to help avoid a system failure in severe cold weather when you need it the most! It can also keep your energy bill from getting out of control.

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE CHECKLIST

As recommended by one of our partners Trane, we will perform the following tasks, depending on the unit:

  2. On older models, lubricate motor and inspect and replace fan belt if needed

  3. Check combustion blower housing for lint and debris and clean as necessary

  4. Inspect evaporator coil, drain pan and condensate drain lines and trap—clean as needed

  5. Inspect for gas leaks in gas furnaces

  6. Inspect burner assembly—clean and adjust as needed

  7. Inspect ignition system and safety controls—clean and adjust as needed

  8. Inspect heat exchanger or heating elements

  9. Inspect flue system—check for proper attachment to the furnace, any dislocated sections, and for signs of corrosion—replace if necessary

  10. Inspect control box, associated controls, wiring and connections

  11. Clean or replace air filters

  12. Inspect conditioned airflow system (ductwork) around furnace

  13. Monitor system starting characteristics and capabilities

  14. Listen for abnormal noise

  15. Search for source of unusual odors

Here at Thomson Plumbing & Heating we also service your Fireplace, Boilers, and Space Heaters to get ready for the cold weather!

If you have an air conditioning unit, don't forget to mark your calendar to have it serviced in late Spring before the first heat wave!

NOTE: Trane recommends all maintenance and service work be performed by a professional air conditioning and heating dealer that holds the appropriate credentials to install and service air conditioning and heating equipment.
